How external video works on SpeakOut TV.
SpeakOut TV may use YouTube API Services and YouTube’s embedded player to discover and display public videos from approved sources. SpeakOut’s curator adds editorial value by selecting sources, applying topic filters and requiring SpeakOut review before an external video can be publicly presented as curated content.
Original creator and playback
Curated YouTube videos remain hosted by YouTube and play through the original embedded YouTube player. SpeakOut does not download or re-upload the creator’s audiovisual content through this curator. Where external content is shown, the creator/channel attribution is preserved.
Metadata we may use
For approved curator sources, SpeakOut may temporarily store YouTube-provided information such as the video title, description, thumbnail, channel name, publish date and video identifier so the editorial team can review the item and present attribution. The curator periodically refreshes stored YouTube metadata and removes or hides stale or unavailable source data when it can no longer be refreshed.
What the curator does not do
- It does not automatically publish external videos to SpeakOut TV.
- It does not download or create a copy of the underlying YouTube video.
- It does not use viewer mood selections to decide which outside creators to ingest.
- It excludes made-for-kids channels/videos from the automated curator workflow.
YouTube and Google terms
Use of embedded YouTube content is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
